RCHT Treliske Tower Block Fire Safety Works

Delivering life critical active and passive fire safety upgrades across an occupied Higher Risk Building (HRB) estate.

Appointed by BAM Construction for the Royal Cornwall Hospitals (NHS) Trust, Bailey Partnership is providing multi-disciplinary expertise from RIBA Stage 1 onwards. This comprehensive £10m+ infrastructure program brings the live Treliske Tower Block into required HTM compliance through extensive surveys, active and passive fire system installations, and ongoing structural enhancements. We are currently executing various smaller phase of the overall Phase 6 programme, with phased delivery extending over the next few years.

The Need & Strategic Impact

Transforming compliance and occupant safety in a complex, live acute care environment.

Upgrading fire safety within an operational acute hospital demands absolute technical precision and minimal clinical disruption.

The project addresses existing fire risk assessments through comprehensive horizontal and vertical compartmentation, lift shaft protection, replacement fire doorsets, and upgraded fire detection, emergency lighting, and cable containment systems.

Notably, Phase 6 achieved early approval from the Building Safety Regulator under new HRB legislation.
