Multi Disciplinary Services to University of Chichester Scheme
Bailey Partnership are delighted to have been appointed for a second time by the University of Chichester. This is an exciting opportunity which will continue to help further our Chichester office’s local University and its local community.
We will be developing a scheme through feasibility to support our client in securing project delivery approvals for the roof replacement of the striking Chapel Building on their Bishop Otter Campus, alongside renovating the flooring and designing treatment for its stunning glazing. We will be supporting the University with a full multidisciplinary team including Project Management, Architecture, Cost Consultancy services, Town Planning, Building Services Engineering, Structural Engineering and Principal Designer/CDM consultancy.
The locally listed Chapel was designed by Bridgewater and Shepherd and constructed in 1961. The Listing notes that ‘the interior is particularly impressive with original stained glass to the sides and exposed steelwork within the roof canopy’. The main roof is steeply pitched with four lead lined valley sections and eight lead lined internal gutter sections to the gables; we will enjoy the challenge of designing a sensitive solution.
Our Chichester office is just a short walk from the University campus – we are confident that our close proximity and vested interest in the local area will help ensure this scheme is a success.
We can’t wait to support their team on this complex, historic project!
