Bailey Partnership’s Maidstone team is pleased to be working with Medway Council on the much-needed remedial works at Central Theatre, Chatham. Appointed as a multi-disciplinary consultancy by the council, our project team will be responsible for preparing the specification, procuring contractors, and managing the works to address the structural damage caused by prolonged water ingress.

The project will involve replacing the roof coverings and structure, reinforcing the floor, reconstructing damaged external walls, and refurbishing affected internal finishes. Given the theatre’s operational constraints, the works must be carefully scheduled within a strict seven-week window from early August to mid-September 2025.

Director Stuart Collingwood commented: “We are delighted to continue our strong relationship with Medway Council, bringing our expertise to such a significant local venue. Understanding the challenges of delivering essential works within tight timescales, we are committed to ensuring the project is completed efficiently while preserving the theatre’s integrity and its vital role within the community.”
