Bailey Partnership Coast2Coast Charity Ride: Supporting Dartmoor Search & Rescue Plymouth

Chris Rees

This weekend, a team of cyclists from Bailey Partnership will be trading desks for drop handlebars as they take on the Coast2Coast charity bike ride Devon – a challenging 100+ mile route from the rugged north Devon coast to the scenic south coast, all to raise vital funds for Dartmoor Search & Rescue Plymouth.

From Ilfracombe to Plymouth: The journey

The route begins in Ilfracombe, winding through the heart of Devon including Okehampton, before finishing on the waterfront in Plymouth. Over two days, our team will take on this Devon charity cycling challenge, which will test endurance, teamwork, and resilience as they conquer steep climbs, shifting terrain, and long miles – all in support of a life-saving cause.

This fundraising ride is part of Bailey Partnership’s commitment to community support, showing how the architecture and construction industry can give back beyond the built environment.

Why we’re riding

At Bailey Partnership, we believe in supporting the communities we help shape. That’s why we’re proud to back Dartmoor Search & Rescue Plymouth, a dedicated, volunteer-led organisation that plays a vital role in local emergency response.

From locating missing walkers to supporting paramedics during extreme weather and delivering search-and-rescue operations across Dartmoor, their impact is enormous – and they receive no government funding. This Coast2Coast charity bike ride is our way of helping them continue that vital work.

“It’s great to support DSRT with this ride. Anyone who knows Dartmoor, which covers 368 square miles, will be aware of the sheer beauty and remoteness it offers; however with challenging terrain and extreme weather conditions things can and do go wrong very quickly. The four Dartmoor Search and Rescue groups rely entirely on the financial support of the local community to enable their volunteers to respond to incidents 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and we are really happy to do our bit to help this amazing organisation.” – Mike Fisher, Executive Director, Bailey Partnership.

Many of our staff live, work, and explore in and around Dartmoor. Supporting emergency services Dartmoor isn’t just a good cause – it’s a reflection of our values. This initiative also reinforces our identity as a firm built for community and driven by purpose.
