Bailey Fest 2022

Bailey Partnership

A day to come together and connect as people as well as employees of Bailey Partnership.

We were blessed with sunshine for a day of celebration at our Annual Employee Party event, now known as #BaileyFest.

This event allows all 6 of our offices to come together and connect as people as well as employees of Bailey Partnership. This was an opportunity to show appreciation to our hard working staff as this is hard to express day to day when you are focussed on meeting deadlines.

The afternoon began exploring “team building” experiences. This included a paddle boarding adventure on the scenic Firestone Bay and a trip along the Plymouth Hoe coastline, resulting in plenty of falling into the water led by the brilliant South West SUP. A therapeutic pottery making session with the lovely Tweeny at The Pottery. The Hook & Line hosted an entertaining Rum/Cocktail workshop and an informative Wine Tasting encounter was held at the sophisticated Le Vignoble. These activities provided our team members an opportunity to spend time with colleagues they may not normally have the opportunity to do so. Whether they work in different offices or departments, Bailey Fest is about bringing us together to form those ever so important relationships. As a company we not only work and communicate effectively, but value our staff and their fantastic efforts. The evening finished beautifully at Ocean Studios, with food served by Four Elements and music by local musicians Land of the Giants and Joe Hurworth

Attending the party this year were 15 new arrivals, each bringing us something different and play an integral part in the continued success and growth of Bailey Partnership. We also celebrate the many other successes of this year :-

Timebridge community centre was awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in 5 separate categories, celebrating alongside McAvoy who we worked closely with to create this BREEAM Excellent project. Devonport Towers, three iconic fifteen storey tower blocks in Plymouth, was shortlisted at the RICS Awards as well as being a Finalist at Constructing Excellence Awards. We joined the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government as part of  cladding remedial projects.

David Vickerstaff, Senior Associate Architect and sustainability lead, is shortlisted for Role Model of the Year at the UK Construction Week. We also joined the UN Climate Change campaign (Race To Zero), achieved the Future Net Zero Standard accreditation and obtained planning permission for our first net zero project at Plymouth City Business Park.

We were also shortlisted for a second year as SME of The Year by Constructing Excellence South West along with our recent project Saltash Station which was shortlisted nationally. We even completed a Coast to Coast Charity Bike Ride; a team of 14 cyclists peddled our way from Ilfracombe to Plymouth, covering 110 miles. We successfully raised money for Plymouth Together, part of the Wolseley Trust alongside PKF-Francis Clark.

Finally, we have gone international! With big plans in Gibraltar, we hope to be able to create a vibrant central pedestrian space to both fuel and feed a sustainable development and regeneration of Devils Tower Road.

“We have a fantastic team of experts – This was a fantastic way to celebrate their achievements and come together to look to the future. Here’s to another year!”
